Cuphead rage.

Cuphead is the latest game to challenge not only the notion that today's games are for noobs, but anyone who plays it. It's a tough platformer built in the style of 1930's cartoons, and it's quickly become one of the hottest topics in gaming circles.

It wasn't long ago that gamers were making fun of a journalist who sucked at the game. Now, they're coming face first with the reality that they probably aren't as good as they think they are at playing video games.

Cuphead's levels not only require quick reaction times and a keen awareness of enemy behavior, but also incredible patience. You have to beat an entire level without dying in one go to move on, which is a lot to ask in a game that sends thousands of random objects hurdling your way.

And you, you're just a fragile little cup that breaks on its first contact with anything that has a harder surface than a feather pillow. You could say the plates are stacked against you.

With this in-mind, it doesn't come as much of a surprise that people are taking out their frustration on the internet. Below are some examples of journalists and gamers sharing what they think of Cuphead:

1. Pointing Out the Obvious

2. A Shakespearean Take On Cuphead

3. Suicide Note

4. No Ending for You

5. The Cupcake Prick

6. Noob Detected

7. The First Step Toward Change

8. Surprise Mofo

And yet, in lieu of all this, apparently everyone can't stop playing. Currently standing at an 86 Metascore, many agree that it's an extremely well-designed and rewarding game, perhaps the best indie title of 2017. Many are going as far as comparing it to Dark Souls, which similarly knew how to make you lose your s*** but keep you from uninstalling the game.
