10 Reasons to Marry and Engineer

10 Good Reasons for You to Date and Marry an Engineer

1. The world does not revolve around us. We choose the coordinate system.

2. No "couple" could enjoy a better "moment."

3. We know how to handle stress and strain in a relationship.

4. We have significant figures.

5. EK 301: The motion of rigid bodies.

6. Projectile motion: Need we say more?

7. Engineers do it to specifications.

8. According to Newton, if two bodies interact, the forces are equal and opposite.

9. We know it's not the length of the vector that counts, but how you apply the force.

   10. We know the right hand rule.

I found this and thought it was funny but I would like to add a list of things engineers' wives have to deal with.

1. Nothing is ever broken until we have had a shot at its reinvention.

(i.e. turning an old turntable into an overly complicated clock.)

2. When we tell you we will do something right away it really means we will forget about it because we are concentrating on something else.

3. You will have to deal with long and overly intricate explanations to even the simplest question.

4. Be prepared to deal with massive piles of engineering journals and seminar material that will never be thrown away.

5. The cat will on occasion be needed as a mechanical energy source for an experimental device. (Don’t worry he wasn't harmed)

6. On occasion you will happen across something in the garage which is changing states of matter. (Do not touch it!)

7. We are aware that our shirt is dirty but we are far too busy to be concerned about that now.

8. Never underestimate our ability to break something brand new attempting to decipher how it was made. (Sorry about the foot massager honey)

9. Chemistry can be dangerous and we will be happy to demonstrate the danger of mixing very specific amounts of household chemicals so you don't accidently do the same.

10. Always have emergency contact numbers for FIRE, EMS, and EOD on hand in case one or our "experiments" goes awry.
