In an earlier blog I provided a Canadian example of how abortion makes us insensitive to human life. A mother was able to kill her 14 year old daughter with a scarf and go free. The daughter was promiscuous and the courts agreed with the pissed off mom.

Here is an example of that same insensitivity within the American judicial system, but this time with a nineteen month old baby.

The Upper West Side mother who admitted to tossing her baby and herself into the river to spite her husband was reunited with him today.

Devi Silvia, 34 who Judge Lewis Bart Stone ordered released on $10,000 bail left the courthouse with her husband despite feverent objection by prosecutors.

Silvia, says she suffers from bi-polar disorder and has been hold up at Elmhurst Hospital's psych ward, since May after she threw her 19 month old daughter Jessica into the Hudson, then jumped in after her in an apparent suicide attempt.

Jessica, now healthy, living with relatives in India was unconscious when she was pulled from the frigid river on that spring afternoon.

Silvia told authorities her motive was jealously, angered by her husband Dominic James Prithiviraj's job at Oracle which sprung them from their native India to various cities across the United States.

Judge Stone ordered her release on the conditions she attend regular outpatient psychiatric treatment.

Silvia a former math teacher in India misses her children according to her attorney, Seema Iyer.

"Anytime the judge mentions the kids she cries."

Her next court date is set for September 23rd.
