Fat Cats

As an afterthought to my last kitty blog, I found it fitting to include a list of the cutest fat cats the web over. Poor little kitties need to lose some weight, although some seriously can't help it at all. Either way, more fat and fuzz means more to cuddle, as you can see when you meet:

Tubcat

No one knows his real name, but no one cares. He is simply Tubcat, and an internet sensation.

Riley

This fuzzy is an orange Maine Coon kitty, shown with his owner Martha, who claims that in this picture, Riley was only 24 lbs.

Chinese Fatty

This poor, super-fat tabby baby weighs 33 lbs. with a 30" waist. His owner, Xu Jirong, claims this kitty hates fish but loves meat, which is the secret to his chub. Steamed bread, half a bowl of chicken heart, and pork every day keeps his kitty happy.

Leo
                                                                    longest-cat.jpg
Leo's got the Guinness World Record for longest cat - although he should've been in the running for fattest cat: 35 lbs. and 48" tall makes Leo a huge, fat, fuzzy addition.

Munchkin

"Munchkin the Monster Cat"'s real name is Sassy, who weighed in at 40 lbs. before his death some years ago. His owner claims the weight gain started after Sassy got fixed, and was puzzling since he never ate table scraps, an inordinate amount of food, and loved just a bite or two of chicken or tuna.

The World's Fattest Cat

You may have checked it out already, but the world's fattest cat is on record by Guinness at topping off at 40.8 lbs.

Meatball

Let's not forget Meatball, the fat cutie from Anger Management. It's nearly impossible to find any kind of detailed information on this orange tabby, and I'd love to figure out any of it.

Dishonorable Mention:  Snowball, the mutant kitty

All kinds of shit on the webz claimed this cat was for real, even rumoring that he was a mutant cat found in a Canadian nuclear research facility. Turns out the whole thing was a fake, thanks to Snowball's owner, Cordell Hauglie, who simply wanted to practice his photoshop skills and impress his kids. He ended up perpetrating the whole thing for months, before letting the cat out of the bag, so to speak. Nice example for your daughter, Cordell.
