Fringe Factor

So, I was chatting with Bo just now and I was boring him to tears wth this story of mine I've been developing in my head for four years or more now. Just suffice it to say, it's a fantasy in the Star Wars/LOTR/X-Men sector of the genre (which is to say it's nowhere, maybe).

I got to thinking though, about the sub-plots and fringe characters in the story--the three secretaries that chat about each other endlessly, whom we see one at a time, the step-brother of the Messiah-type main character of Parts 2-4. Which of these will be the next Boba Fett type character (assuming it ever gets made)? Who will people identify with, despite their marginality? Or is it because of that?

So I pose the question to you all: Who is it you lock in on in a movie, that you're not supposed to (i.e. the main character)? LOTR is pretty much an ensemble, so I don't know if that counts, but make the argument. Why is it, in your horrendously uninformed opinion of yourself, that you're drawn to that character?

To start it off, though its been years since I saw The Goonies, I like the fat kid and the cyclops... because I was a fat kid and still am a bit large, like the cyclops.

P.S. I know you're all just gonna give me hell for not knowing their names, but shit, it was twentysome years ago.

Oh hell, I'm old.

Thanks for reading LoManx.
