Hellraiser Has At Least 8 Parts

Ohayou, guys! Today we are talking about a movie with a lot of sequels. Almost everybody heard of the movie Hellraiser or recognises the Pinhead character. The movie is one of the most popular in the horror genre and follows a quite original concept.

To make the long story short: a toymaker named Le Marchand makes a box for an alchemist or some shit. Maybe he was a devil worshipper, who cares. The point is, the guy uses the riddle box as a portal to hell. Since it's a riddle box, not everybody's smart enough to open it, so it sometimes stays in somebody's possesion for years until it finds the right person.

What happens when the box is opened? The rules say the Cenobites (the demons that are brought through the gateway) have the right to take the opener's soul. But some have made a deal with the Cenobites and either gave them someone else's lives in exchange for their soul or became Cenobytes themselves. All are acceptable and there's 8 parts of this shit, so you'll prolly see many scenarios.

As for almost every movie, Neko's Second Sequel Is Shit rule applies. Here's a little review of all the Hellraiser movies filmed. I know that spoilers aren't fun, but it's only for the people who didn't watch the movie, and I did, so I don't give a shit - I'm gonna tell you the endings cause I roll like that.

Hellraiser (1987) - there's a guy who summons the Cenobites and escapes hell. A drop of blood brings him back to life. Not entirely, because he needs to find people to get their organs and skin (he's incomplete). There's this chick who's father gets killed this way or somtething like that and she wants revenge. She makes a deal with the demons to bring the fucker who killed her dad back to hell in exchange for her soul.

Ending: Everybody in the movie but the girl who made a pact with Cenobites die.

Hellraiser 2: Hellbound (1988) - Like with most sequels, this one was much better than the original when it comes for special effects and story. One of the characters from the first part returns from hell and seduces a psychiatrist. She needs patients to feed on, to get her body restored. The main character thinks her father is trapped in hell and the box gets opened again. This time they travel into the portal and the views are great. The story gets cheesy at the end, but it's still a cool movie.

Ending: Everybody but the main character, the small girl and the head Cenobite die.

Hellraiser 3: Hell On Earth (1992) - Following the Second Sequel Is Shit Rule, this one is a standard Hollywood overabudance known so well. Too much iconoclasty, too much characters, too much killings. No story.

Ending: Everybody but the Cenobite dies.

Hellraiser 4: Bloodline (1996) - Another typical movie sequel shtick - like with the Critters, the fourth part happens in space. But I guess they ran out of ideas for this one and it takes you back in time to learn how the box was made and shit. Then back to space.

Ending: Everything explodes. Even the Cenobite. But...

Hellraiser 5: Inferno (2000) - Somebody made a thriller movie based on the Hellraiser characters. And it's a good movie, too! The idea of hell is different here, but me gusta. It could've been a whole different movie, not a Hellraiser, but they borrowed the Pinhead demon and the box theme most probably for marketing. It was a good idea, I guess.

Ending: Everybody dies or kill themselves.

Hellraiser 6: Hellseeker (2002) - Another movie made in a similar manner as Hellraiser 5. A guy with partial amnesia is suspected to be his wive's killer. But he has no idea what happened and thinks it was all an accident and that they both fell into a river in a car accident. The body is nowhere to be found. As the police try to figure out what happened to his wife, a series of strange occurrences take place. He slowly figures out that he's trapped in hell. And his wife is the woman who made a deal with Cenobites in the first movie. And he wanted to send her to hell by giving her the box. And she made a deal with the demons again. And it's him who's in... oh wait, that's the spoiler already.

Ending: The guy and his lovers die.

Hellraiser 7: Deader (2005) - A reporter goes to Romania to learn about the deaders - a subculture that seems to kill each other to be raised as undead. It prolly sounds silly, but it's a story, and she takes it. Soon she's trapped in hell (which is Romania). The movie looks great. The story not so.

Ending: Everybody but the publisher and the main Cenobite dies. The main character kills herself.

Hellraiser 8: Hellworld (2005) - The proof that Lance Henriksen will play in any shit if they pay him. There's a bunch of teenagers who play the Hellraiser game. One of them tooks it too far and sets himself on fire. His dad takes vengence and invites his buddies (Hellraiser geeks) to a Hellraiser party to drug and bury them alive, because they didn't stop his son from playing the game. The drugs make them hallucinate and think that the Cenobites are after them.

Ending: They were all experiencing hallucinations. Some killed themselves, or died from fear or asthma attack. Two of the characters live through it.

Those are the movies. The last one was a huge shit. Actually, most of them were. Parts 1, 2 and 5 are okay. Watch those if you like a good horror movie with an interesting story. I was kidding with the ending spoilers

Or was I?
