Karma

Is it hard to try to care
For those besides yourself,
To have just one less trinket
Cluttering your shelf?
Does it hurt to help someone
When you see them in need?
Or are you greatly self-indulged
And wallow in your greed??
Does it hurt to kindness show
When someone's facing grief?
Does it hurt, a smile to give
And offer some relief?
Troubles come to all of us
As we walk down life's road
Especially when we must bear
A very heavy load
You'll need someone to help you too
At some point in your life
So giving now can help relieve
Your later pain and strife
For what you give is what you get
It's karma, don't you see?
It's something that affects us all
You, too and not just me
