Ah, it's a Saturday and it's time for makin' bacon! What better thing to do on a lovely Saturday afternoon? Of course, it's a little hot for it, but a man's gotta' do what a man's gotta do.
What? Shame on you! You thought I was talking about S-E-X didn't you? Get your mind out of the gutter! I was talking about makin' BACON! Yes, bacon.
I was sitting here trying to figure out why bacon is so appealing in the South. I think that, in part, it's because of the salt. Of course, there are those who eat it just because Jews won't, but that's another story.
Yeah, it gets hot down here in the South. It's 92F right now, 33C, and it's going up to 97F, or 36C. Man, were's sweating buckets! When you sweat that much, you lose a lot of soduim. Since salt pills have been deemed unsafe, what else can you do but make bacon? Besides, makin' bacon is a fundamental staple of Southern life. We all love makin' bacon!
