I have not blogged for some time now, and normally I would write about something cop like or I might have gripe or two.  But, not tonight.  No politics, no po po or religion.  I just wanted to touch on a subject.  It isn’t meant to be controversial, nor am I looking for any finger pointing or debating.  I just wanted to find out what everyone else is doing about potential problems that could and may arise from the economic situation we are having.  Most likely the economy will get better and we as Americans can go about our business as usual without a care in the world.  But, what if things don’t get better for a long time?  What if things get worse and there are repercussions from this?  I don’t know, I think many people don’t know.  Does anybody here even care?  What happens if the economy gets worse and food suddenly becomes extremely expensive and is in short supply?

Anyway, for some time now my wife and I have been stocking up on survival type foods and gear.  We have a stockpile of nonperishable foods, bottled water and medical supplies.  We also have other gear such as candles, flashlights with extra batteries, a hand crank radio, extra sleeping bags, a compass, a magnesium fire started, and two wilderness survival books.  Not to mention some weapons and extra ammo.  I have more stuff than I mentioned here, but if I gave a complete list of all my items I would bore the rest of you more than I am now. Having lived in Michigan for 25 years and being caught in blizzards from time to time has taught me to stock up.  Also 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina reminded me of how quickly we can be isolated from any help what so ever.

Ok, I am wondering if anyone else out there has made any preparations for a natural disaster or a terrorist attack or maybe even a major economic collapse?
