Canada celebrates Thanksgiving in October because that's the right time to do it.  The Americans copied us about a month later and made up some fairy tale about some strange people who crashed a canoe on a rock.  I knew it was all BS when I read the pilgrims had buckles on their shoes and tall hats.  Those are two items that are not seafaring and would not have made it across the ocean.  Anyways, I'm never one to dismiss an opportunity to celebrate and even fake stories about a bunch of pissed off  Christians in weird clothes taking over an entire continent is good enough for moi.
