Maybe it's just a southern thing, but I swear that there are no sidewalks or cross-walks to be found around here.  I watch a few stray people taking their lives in their own hands as they bolt across busy intersections, hoping they timed it all right and that they won't get hit by a car.  It's ridiculous! 

I know when I lived in a city in Wyoming, there were crosswalks and sidewalks.  I know when I lived in Oregon there were crosswalks and sidewalks.  I know when I was in Rhode Island there were crosswalks and sidewalks (though some of the crosswalks were fucked up and you couldn't trust them).  When I was in South Carolina, there were no crosswalks or sidewalks.  Now, here in North Carolina, there are none.  Is the south really just that fucked up?  Or are we just getting so lazy that the need for sidewalks is going away and they are being destroyed?

Ugh...  I can't wait to move back north...
