What is it that turns normal people into uppity aholes when their person/team wins? It is like everyone thinks they need to crap on the opposing fans because for once they are on top. I have noticed this more and more over the past few years.
When the Indianapolis Colts beat the Bears in the Superbowl, the normally sensible Midwestern folk became obnoxious dickweeds. The same held true when my Cubs made a run into the playoffs. Mocking the Atlanta tomahawk chop during a game = funny. Chicago fans belittling a dad (with his kids) after the game = jagoff.
Now I see this with Obama. "Ha ha. We won. You lost. Get over it." is typical. One of the promised changes I bought into was that Obama could reach across the aisle and find common ground for each side. To me it seems like he has let the Democratic leaders (Pelosi/Frank) do the victory dance a little too long.
I fall into the wait and see category for Obama. Hell, most people give a football coach at least one full season to see if he is any good or not. The clock is ticking and hopefully he will soon make a move to draw the two sides together.
Getting back on track...it is expected to talk shit if somebody starts it. They have it coming. In other words, they start it - you finish it. But, you're being a complete ahole if you pile on and kick people when they are down.
hey hey hey good-bye
