I caught a few new shows recently. The 1st is "Jessie James is a Dead Man". I used to watch "Monster Garage" and his old shows that featured his custom bike builds. I liked both of those shows a lot but his new show is following a crappy formula. I think it started with Mythbusters. They take the last 30 seconds before a break to set up the next segment. Then, after the commercial, they spend another 30 seconds reviewing the previous segment. Do they think we are that stupid that a commercial break would prevent us from following the multilayered plot twist of seeing if they can make a bow and arrow out of newspaper and whitey tighty elastic? You take that outro and intro crap, multiply it by 6 commercial breaks and it makes even good material a hassle to watch. "Ice road Truckers" does the same thing. I will give the "Dead Man" show a few more chances but you get the feeling they take 30 minutes of show and stretch the shit out of it. Then it looks like the person who got the gut staples. Sure your skinny now but that sagging skin is repulsive.
The other "new" show is Conan taking over for Jay Leno on the Tonight Show. He looks like a rookie out there doing his monologue. I know it is his first week but Letterman would have nailed it straight off. I have always been a Letterman fan so I may be showing my bias that he got snubbed all those years ago by Leno. I just made a 17 year old reference so again I am showing my age. What is your favorite latenight show? Fallon? Kimmel? Ferguson? Conan or Letterman?
