I Don't Wanna Be Sedated

Thanks to everyone for their birthday wishes. I had one hell of a time over the weekend, even though I don't remember most of it. I must have drank for everyone I know.

When it came Sunday, I felt a bit hungover. As I'm getting ready for work, I ended up getting sick several times. But I've dealt with this several times, so I just did my thing and left for work. I had to be there by 12:45 and got there about a half hour early. I stood around, trying to act normal. As the girl that I was relieving was about to leave, I felt dizzy, nauseated, shaky, and hot all at the same time. I went into the bathroom for a while and laid on that disgusting floor because it was cold. I have no idea how long I was in there but it must have been a while.

When I got out, the assistant manager called the store manager to tell her what happened and asked if it was all right if we could call someone else in.

The worst part about this? This has happened to me in the past a few times before. And drinking wasn't even a factor.

Anyways, my boyfriend happened to be there to visit and he stuck around until someone could come in and take over my shift. Throughout the rest of the day, I felt horrible.

The next day (yesterday), I woke up at about 11:00am to get ready for work again. I still felt sick but I would hate to call into work. I laid in the tub for a while and when I got up, the room started spinning. The 5-year-old came out of me and asked my parents if someone could call in for me, and then take me to the hospital. I could barely talk and my eyes were watering. I couldn't even stand. Drinking definitely wasn't a factor.

So my dad calls.

Dad: "This is Emily's father and she can't come in today. She's not doing well at all and I need to take her to the hospital."

Rose (store manager): "She needs to call 6 hours before her shift."

Dad: "Oookay, but she was getting ready for work-"

Rose: "She needs to call 6 hours before her shift."

What a fucking cold-hearted bitch!! Seriously! She knew nothing about going on. What if one of her employees was dying? What if someone got into a car accident? "Duuurr, she needs to call in 6 hours before her shift." What the fuck!!

It turns out that I lost my insurance so we decided to try the walk-in clinic first. I told the doctor everything, and even what my store manager said.

"Is that the woman with the long blond hair? God, she's a pain!"

The doctor thinks it's just a bad stomach flu so he asked if I wanted a shot and some pills to ease the nausea. Of course I did cause I felt like asshole. So he leaves, and the nurse comes back and gave me a shot on the ass. "By the time you turn in your prescription, you're going to feel very, very tired." Luckily I wasn't even able to drive in the first place cause she was right. I thought I was going to fall asleep on the store floor.

A couple hours later as I'm sleeping, my mom comes in my room and hands me my pills. I kept having dreams that I was taking them when I actually wasn't. Finally later on in the evening I was able to wake myself up and take one and shortly after, I was knocked out again.

Turns out the pills are sedatives which doesn't make much sense to me. Apparently they're supposed to help nausea but reading the side effects, one of the main ones is nausea. Fucking retarded.

I go back to work tomorrow. Luckily it's the graveyard shift. The doctor didn't even tell me anything about them. Seriously, what if I was to go to work today? I've done nothing but slur my words and talk about retarded shit for the past couple days and not even realize it.

Ah well. That's enough rambling for today.
