Football Prediction

For those of you who don't know, I live in Indianapolis.  The Circle City is going Colts crazy at the moment.  Frankly, I could care less.  I was always a Cowboy's fan growing up, but I rarely watch football anymore.  Professional sports lost their magic for me quite awhile ago.  The ticket prices, team jumping, and insane salaries have taken a toll on me.  I still watch some baseball and follow the Cubs, but that too is slowly fading on my priority list.  I still love to play sports.  That bit of childhood magic has never left.  I play football, softball, volleyball, and basketball every chance I get.  I'm still in decent shape for 36 and sports have been an integral part of that.

Now to the point of this blog, three nights ago I had a dream that the Colts got beat by the Ravens.  I have relayed this dream sequence to several friends and it has not been popular here in the Brickyard.  My prognostications usually fall short.  However, this one seemed to be rather strong.  So we'll see.  The thing is the Colts lost the last two games because they rested the starters.  The coaching staff did this to 1.) give them some rest and 2.) not risk any injuries to said starters.  This strategy failed miserably the last time it was attempted by the Colts.  My theory is it's like taking a well oiled machine and abruptly shutting it down; then trying to restart it at full throttle three weeks later.  No amount of practice is going to prepare for playoff intensity football.

In conclusion, I will be rooting for the Colts, but my prediction has been made...Ravens win.  Also, the mere fact that I made this prediction, ensures a Colts victory.  That's just how the proverbial fortune cookie crumbles.  See you on the other side...

P.S.  The night following the Colts dream, I had a crazy sex dream...I definitely hope that one comes true.  :-P
