The People Who Died.
Christina Taylor Green ( The Arizona Republic ) Christina Taylor Green, 9, was born on the tragic day of Sept. 11, 2001. She had been interested in politics from a young age and wanted to attend Penn State and have a career that involved helping those less fortunate than her. Her grandfather, former major-league pitcher Dallas Green, managed the 1980 world champion Philadelphia Phillies. Christina's father, John Green, is a scout for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Phyllis Schneck (Associated Press / Schneck Family) Phyllis Schneck, 79, had traveled to the event to shake Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' hand.
Gabe Zimmerman (Office of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords / Associated Press) Gabe Zimmerman, 30, was the director of community outreach for Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.
John Roll, 63, was named Arizona's chief federal judge in 2006.
Dorwan Stoddard, 76, was killed as he shielded his wife, who was shot in the legs.
Dorothy Morris, 76, was killed Saturday in the Tucson, Ariz., shooting. Her husband, George, remains in critical condition. The couple were high-school sweethearts.
