I haven't blogged in a long time, but I think I want to get back into it. 

I've been back from Korea for a couple months now and have been spending more of my free time with my wife and kids.  In Korea it was easy to spend hours on the internet because I was there by myself and I didn't have a TV.  Well, actually I did have a TV provided with my apartment, but I couldn't understand any of it, so I unplugged it and used it as a foot stool.  It was the perfect height.

So now what?  I'm still chewing on the idea of retiring but I can't seem to make up my mind.  After six deployments my 20 year mark is looking pretty good, but with the economy the way it is I might stay a in little longer.  It would be easy to get a civilian job If I were planning to stay here in Kansas, but I want to go back home to Texas when I retire.  That makes it a little harder to plan; I'd be looking for a job AND a house at the same time. 

Next week I have to go to the field and evaluate squads doing missions.  Starts on Monday, ends on Friday, and I'll be living in a tent.  Hooray.  No internet.  No television.  Yay.  Rain in the forecast.  Awesome.  But I suppose it will be decent blog fodder.  I will likely have a story to tell when I get back.  It will most likely start with "no shit, there I was...."
