Stuff I wonder about

* If someone wasn't willing to be blown up rather than betray the religion they had in the first place, how the hell does Osama bin Ladin expect to get cowardly converts to blow themselves up for HIS religion?

* In Disney's Aladdin, the Cave of Wonders waits for the "diamond in the rough" (ie, Aladdin) to show up, presumably so that a bad person doesn't get his hands on the genie's lamp.  Why, then, does it tell the unworthy (those who don't get eaten, anyway) to seek him out?  Isn't that just inviting bad people to trick a relatively decent human into fetching the lamp for them, thus rendering what amounts to a big freaking magical security system irrelevant?

* Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?

* If a ghost is supposed to be a soul wandering the Earth because it can't move on (according to ghost believers), and animals aren't supposed to have souls (according to Christians), then why do we have so many stories about animal ghosts?

* Why is it called "Reality TV" when most of the time it's just crap that in the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's would have been rejected game shows?  What's so "real" about it?

* Why was MTV allowed to keep its name for years after it got rid of the music?

* Did the guys who made the Eragon movie try on purpose to find a wardrobe/make-up team that couldn't tell the difference between a Native American and an elf?

* Why does Konami take up space in the database of their Yu-Gi-Oh! games with cards that were banned to prohibit one-turn KOs, and crowd out good cards that have never been banned, just to put in one plot event or map area where you're allowed to use the banned ones?

* Why do the Republicans call themselves "conservatives"?  The word "conservative" means "opposed to change," but they DO want change: They want to change the world into an episode of Leave It To Beaver.
