Socialism

Jesus would have supported Socialism.  Here are 10 reasons why:

"1. Jesus owned nothing.
2. Jesus argued for the dissolution of the family and the establishment of communes.
3. Jesus loved all people regardless of ethnicity or class.
4. Jesus revolted against the imperial government, established religion and finance capitalism (usury).
5. Jesus taught that we should act as one body, one blood.
6. Jesus taught that his kingdom (ie nation state) is in the heart and not below the feet.
7. Jesus taught that we should fight for Justice and 'turn the other cheek' to petty morality.
8. Jesus was a laborer and a teacher.
9. Jesus practiced healing and forgiveness.
10. Jesus taught that you can't be an imperialist and a disciple at the same time."

If you want to throw this verse at me:

2 Corinthians 8:9 (New International Version)"For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich. "

I suggest you read verse 7 and see what he was talking about.

2 Corinthians 8:7 (New International Version)

"But just as you excel in everythingin faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us[a]see that you also excel in this grace of giving. "

Jesus talked about us being rich SPIRITUALLY, not MATERIALLY.Here's some biblical proof:

Acts 2:44-45 (New International Version)

All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need.

Luke 12:48 (New International Version)

But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his need  (or needs)" ~ Karl Marx

Maybe Karl Marx was a Christian?
