Sufferin' Succotash

My mom and I went and gathered what we could from the garden yesterday evening, but the drought took a toll on the vegetables.
As you can see, what we could pick didn't yield much. It was, though, just enough to make a little succotash for the two of us. Is this what Sylvester meant by "sufferin' succotash?"
A lot of hard work and prayer went into the garden, but I'm not sure the yield outweighs the cost with this drought going on. I am, though, thankful that we had enough for a meal.
