Diary of a Dead Man Part 4
Things went black for a little while. I talked to myself in my dream state. It's weird, I've never been able to do that before. I guess dehydration, hunger, and a bleeding skull can do that to a person. "I've got to get out of here" ,I said to myself. There's got to be a way out. Put it together. What did you do? I needed more answers. Things got bright again. I wasn't driving anymore. I was lying on the floor. I could feel the carpet fibers tickling the back of my neck. Above me was some ripped fabric, and I could see spring coils through the rips. I was under a bed. My hands seemed juvenile in size. My subconscious was back tracking. I heard yelling. It was a man and a woman. An aroma was in the air, I smelled it earlier when I was passed out. It was the smell of cupcakes. I knew where I was. I was back in my mothers house. "Why the fuck am I out of beer?" said the mans voice. "You stupid fucking bitch, you're fucking worthless!" Was this my father? I could feel the fear in my young body. I feared this man. "Hank, you're drunk.", said my mother. "Bitch, I'll tell you when I'm drunk!", said Hank. I wanted to climb out from under the bed. I wanted to protect my mother, but I was only reliving a moment.
Then I heard it, a slap. I heard a bang against the wall. I could hear her sniffling. A door opened from a distance. I heard ruffling. My mother, still on the floor started to beg. "Please no Hank, please, my son!" Hank obviously wasn't my father or she would have said our son. Then I heard the sound of fate, he cocked a gun.
Van doors? No, no, no. What happened to my mother? Take me back you fucked up head! I opened the van doors. A large, unmarked, cardboard box was in the back. Inside were magnets.
I could feel water dripping from my head. I guess it was raining. I smelled a cigar, but Ricco wasn't smoking. My eyes once again opened. I was back. It was raining outside, and the hole in the ceiling was sending water on top of my head. It felt amazing. I opened my sore mouth and drank the water trickling down the side of my nose. I never thought drinking water could feel so good. The room was dark. The once lit lamp to my right was turned off. I didn't hear a sound. No television, no talking what so ever. I could only assume that the power was out due to the storm. I waited, listening for any movement. Nothing. I called to Lisa. Again, no response.
My wrists were swollen. The ropes must have swelled due to the rain water. I was alone. Was I going to be left here to die? Was this my punishment? Night approached, and the room became pitch back. My head felt so dizzy. The pain in my head only got worse as time went by.
