Like Riding a Bike

Man, this is nutsIt's been so long since I've written a story. I thought there would be a lot of cobwebs to brush clear from my brains mechanisms. But, as it turns out, it's like the figurative riding a bike, once learned, never forgotten.

It seems cliche to talk about a story writing itself, and growing beyond what someone originally envisioned. ButCliches are there for a reason, because they are true and common, and this story really is writing itself. Its like some weird creature, scratching and clawing to get out. In my eagerness to post, and get feedback, I might post some really rough stuff, a vague outline.
But for the most part, Greg and his world is slowly materializing into something real. Crook Takes Pawn is becoming something tangible. I want to use description to pluck a scene out of my imagination and have the viewer almost taste those surroundings. To hear what the characters hear, to think like they think.

I don't have a clue on the structure of writing, really. I always like the style of Charles Dickens, how the characters were all close-knit and closely related. It always seemed like it helped tighten the story down when characters were repeated, contributing to the story in several different ways.
With that kind of writing comes the possibility of continuity problems, so I ask for your patience as I sort out all the bad ideas and close those plot holes. I've heard it said that writing is sometimes like poetry over math, and I find that to be true.

this story might be a winner. I have a good feeling, and the web is being woven. Stick around to see what the final outcome will beBut it will have a happy ending, I can promise you that ;)
