Shitty Day

Woke up from the basement floor at about 3am,  all stiff and sore. It was brutally  hot and humid here yesterday so I decided to sleep in the basement. After that the main floor couch was the best choice and there I rested in a rather sweaty mess until 6am. I traded cooling for comfort.

After dropping my wife at work, it was trailer dumping time for my current renovation.  Stepping out of the van, a downpour soaks me down to my socks.  But hey, the dirty job is done. My son and I picked up a few snacks at the grocery store and headed to the job site.

Upon our arrival a carpet steam cleaning truck is in the lane way right in front of the garage doors where I am building some cabinetry.  The truck is running at full bore powering the equipment. It was working so hard they had to open the hood to give it some extra cooling capacity.

So now  we are  working  in a garage filling up with exhaust, constant loud annoying sounds from the engine and machines and the air completely saturated in humidity. By the time the truck left We were finished cutting and it was time for the install.

Of course, the air conditioning wasn't working and the humidity from the carpet cleaning was so thick I had to swim from room to room. After the install I had to ring out my shirt and pants, it was that bad.

After dropping off my son I noticed my wallet was missing, doing a 180 I headed back to the site. It wasn't there. That feeling of anxiousness came over me as I struggled to figure it out. I had just put $500.00 in it which would give a person great incentive to raid it and say fuck it.

While rushing back to the grocery store, the last place I remember having it, the traffic builds up. Half hour to cross the bridge. Nerves freaking out, again drenched in sweat I ask the manager at Farmboy if a wallet showed up. Indeed one did, but the person with the combination to the safe was not in for another hour.

Arghhhhh!  That was one long hour I tell ya and I wasn't sure it was my wallet. In the end, it was, the money still there.  Alls well that ends well. Now me drink is plenty and me belly is full.
