I know its a bit premature, but I wanted to let you know a few things about my second book. It will be called Pawn Takes King. It is a continuation of "Crook Takes Pawn". It is not a sequel. A sequel would seem to indicate the book cannot stand on it's own, and it needs a previous work to help prop it up. I can assure you this is not the case.
Pawn Takes King will be told almost exclusively from Donny's point of view. The tale will start several weeks before the shooting at the pawn shop. It will give the other half of the story that is not included in Crook Takes Pawn. The altercation between Donny and the cop, which lead to his broken nose, will be included. Also, Donny's role in the  Pawn and Payday robbery will be revealed.
    I don't think I've read a book about a homeless person. The fact that I'm trying to write about such a subject seems an oddity. But it interests me to see the depths that people can fall. I have the feeling others will share this fascination of the human downward spiral.
    The main theme in this book will be how poverty and crime interact. Also, there will be undertones to the power-structure in modern American society. Passing mentions to WallStreet and police brutality will be given. I like to think of the normal people as pawns, who overtake the kings of finance. I also plan to have a cop character who is actually a decent person, to counteract the bias I have towards the police.
    So, to sum it up, this next book will hopefully be just as compelling as CTP, if not more so. Keep your eyes, peeled, folks. I will keep you posted, as I make more content.
