I ran across this article today about the comments our President made about football and I was quite frankly perplexed to say the least. Before I go any further here is the exact copy of the whole article so you can see what I mean. 

WASHINGTON (AP) â President Barack Obama is a big football fan with two daughters, but if he had a son, he says he'd  "have to think long and hard" before letting him play because of the physical toll the game takes.

"I think that those of us who love the sport are going to have to wrestle with the fact that it will probably change gradually to try to reduce some of the violence," Obama tells The New Republic.

"In some cases, that may make it a little bit less exciting, but it will be a whole lot better for the players, and those of us who are fans maybe won't have to examine our consciences quite as much."

In an interview in the magazine's Feb. 11 issue, Obama said he worries more about college players than he does about those in the NFL.

"The NFL players have a union, they're grown men, they can make some of these decisions on their own, and most of them are well-compensated for the violence they do to their bodies," Obama said. "You read some of these stories about college players who undergo some of these same problems with concussions and so forth and then have nothing to fall back on. That's something that I'd like to see the NCAA think about."


Really? Did I miss something? I thought that when you turned 18 and went to college you were considered a grown man or woman! Has something changed? The last time I looked, when you turn 18 you are free to join ANY military service without your parents' consent and once you are done with the "basic training" you are eligible to participate in an activity called : WAR! The last time I checked, that was pretty much the most violent thing you can participate in on the planet! Oh but that's ok? Yet the college guys can't or shouldn't make that decision according to the President cause it's too violent?

Do you see a pattern here? I do. Seems to me we're on the path to Fascism. If he has his way, anything that is dangerous or bad for us should just be illegal because he and others ( liberals) think that everyone is stupid and we all need someone to make us behave for our own good, and to me, this article (amongst other things) shows that pretty clearly!

Remember, a lot of other countries were told before by their governments that "we're looking out for you and we know whats best for you. Don't worry we just want to make you safe."

In most cases, safe usually meant "Death!"  As for me, my response is " No Thanks!"

I'll decide what is good for me!
