The Dark Ages of eBaum's World.

It's been almost three years to the day, I first joined this site. I had no idea what to expect, from trolls to alts to mods, it was bizarre to me at first. With the bizarre comes intrigue, imitation and then denial.

With each person I interacted with, I at first thought they we're just being themselves and for many, that was the case. However, the most interesting characters were projections of what someone would like to be perceived as or for fun, whatever gained the most attention. Like my sentence structure, it was confusing at first.

Barring violent acts or psychological beat-downs of myself (if possible) or others, I find it hard to dislike any person. We all have our faults and vulnerabilities, though the few narcissists that exists here would not admit or more accurately, not understand that.

If this place has taught me anything, it is we create our own realities. From the start, I asserted the world was run by psychopaths. That the world would riot and America would reveal it's imperialistic nature. All these took place and still are. I once wrote a blog outlining how American children would one day remotely control drone helicopters to target people under the direction of Hillary Clinton. The idea was crisp, but I am no great writer. I learned today that the RCMP has purchased a shitload of drones to spy on Canadians. This is completely against how I view Canada and if I find a way to decommission these disgusting machines, I will.

The thing that is most disturbing here, is how many intelligent people debase themselves by making stupidity funny. Yes, the awkwardness of a person can be funny. Ignorance of others can make you feel superior. This to me, is akin to those of higher means of education making a joke among their peers at the expense of a lower social class. The narcissistic action of a hillbilly in Arkansas with a shot gun held against the temple of a city slicker is no worse than a slight of a Harvard grad's learned insult against a layman. They both tend to elevate one above the other with an unfair advantage.

There is nothing wrong with taking a trip away from reality to alleviate stress, for a week or two, but I see many people here on eBaum's who have a one way ticket and it is rather disturbing. My suggestion is take a trip away from your trip and find something new. I really enjoyed this place, but stepping in a pile of dog shit bare footed at this point would probably benefit me more.
