It's amazing how the left now exemplifies the above statement when the right would now embrace it. I'm not sure how it all happened or what is behind it. I do know, it's not good for either side that a large part of society uses feelings for decision making rather than rational thinking. When training as we see it today takes over education and knowledge our society is doomed. The left act as if trained while the right behaves as if educated. The two sides are irreconcilable, with the left getting stronger as things get worse, when logic tells us the only way out is to go right.
