Movies and TV Shows

A year has gone by since we first saw the fearless, tough-minded girl of District 12, played by America's favorite sweetheart Jennifer Lawrence, showing off both her bow skills and middle finger to the Capitol.

And now, Katniss Everdeen is back and she is fiercer than ever.

It would be an understatement to say that Jennifer Lawrence had a succesful year: after playing a recently widowed, neurotic character in the blockbuster Silver Linings Playbook, she has been decorating her Los Angeles home with pretty impressive metallic ornaments, including the Academy Award and the Golden Globe Award.

Some say, the Hunger Games trilogy (based on the best-seller novels of Suzanne Collins) would not be what it is today without the fascinating performance of the 23 years old actress. And while I also believe that her professionalism plays a large part in the success of the movie, I think Woody Harrelson deserves some extra credit, too. He is thriving in the role of Haymitch Abernathy, the heavy-weight alcoholic mentor of Katniss.

(By the way, am I the only one who noticed that Harrelson gave his best performances when booze was involved?)

Anyways, they both are back on the big screen, among the likes of Donald Sutherland, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Stanley Tucci.

I think it is not an exaggeration to say that we have every reason to be damn excited. Let us try to cool down ourselves a little with the official trailer.
