My ears ring a lot.  I can not go to sleep without some kind of noise (a fan, radio, TV, etc.) because when it gets quite the ringing in my ears gets a lot louder a LOT quicker.  I go to a lot of concerts, and I play drums in a band that plays a lot of shows.  However, I'm too stupid to wear earplugs (I'm going to CVS tomorrow and buying some because I don't want to be deaf by the time I'm 30).  My question is, will the ringing decrease if I start protecting my ears from now on?  Also, can the inner ear repair itself?  If I have to live with this constant ringing it's going to suck, but I have a feeling that's what I'm going to have to do.
