I am an 18 year old who is doing a Victory lap.  I play football like the trades and history.  Recently I took an interest in Plumbing, being that I'm not all that retarded, I passed all my classes and graduated.  I went down to my guidance councilor and asked what I needed to do to become a plumber.  First she tried to talk me out of it and to become a Mechanic where I received no less then 90 in double credit courses.  So then after getting back to the plumbing she said I'm not eligible to take part of a student to work program because I was smart enough to graduate on time.  So then after talking about other jobs I could qualify for, they finally told me I could become a roadrunner with another school to take a double credit plumbing course. But the school with the program will likely say no.  So basically my counselor said your shit out of luck. If you had of talked to me in grade 9 or 10, I could've helped you, but your graduated now.  It kinda pissed me off to know that because I was 16 and didn't know what I wanted to do for like 40 years of work that I can't get into it now.  It's made me think about how big a failure our schools are and how the whole system is a failure, just wondering what others might be thinking about the school system's and violence in schools too.
