Who was smoking????

Dec 1979 in Cincinnati the WHO came to town and 11 people were trampled to death due to festival seating. I remember this for many reasons and here are two of them.......

My brother and I went to see the Who and although I wasn't a real fan I was 21 and sewing them wild oats we all seem to do. We didn't even know what had happened because it was well.....a rock concert and everybody had to time their drugs out, my brother and I were no different. My brother had purchased a couple hits of purple Microdot and we took them and while he went downstairs to buy beer he saw the the stretchers and the gurneys taking people away. Now I want you to notice the term I used earlier "timing of your drugs" and my brother timed his just right. Now he/we are feeling very paranoid and walk up to a cop and asked the question "what happened?" and the cops reply " some people got hold of some bad purple Microdot"I bet the cop had himself a real good laugh because we did the next day.

Second thing I remember is after the dust had settled and the investigation was over, the great minds that decide the important things, came forward with this announcement......"there will be no more smoking in the Cincinnati Coliseum". I went to many concerts over the years at the Coliseum and due to festival seating was almost crushed a number of times. (people have to have their smoke. In case you cant remember, with festival seating the first person to a seat gets that seat and of course the way to stop this sort of thing was to make people stop smoking. By doing this it gives people more lung power and they can run faster to the seats. A couple of months later they did away with festival seating which DID take care of the problem. This is the first time the truth came out about me being there with my brother because I dint want anybody to know the cop fooled me too.
