Like the title is asking... wtf is the deal with this shit no matter what you put up here people scream of its suckiness and call it emo for example, this poem is from robert frost, despite the literary value of this poem, not that many of the emo screamers read any classic lit....  these same people woudl with out a doubt call it emo.

wo roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth.

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same.

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

call it emo if you wish... and i will call you a moron, as i wish. but the simple fact of the matter is you suck and thats it. However, this is a little more than a rant, this is a challange to you emo-sayer out there to define exactly what it is to be emo, apart from a choice in color schemes you put your posts in, or a simple expression of emotion through poetry. Remember kiddies, what your calling emo, reading it or not,  is almost exactly nothing more than an extension of the style and technique of 19th century romantic poetry.
