Perhaps the world's longest lasting marriage has come to an end.  After 115 years of marriage, Bibi and Poldi can no longer stand the sight of each other and had to be separated.  They were born in 1897, and were originally paired at the Basel Zoo in Switzerland.  These two turtles were moved to Australia 36 years ago.  The female has been attacking the male turtle, even to the point of taking a chunk of his shell during one altercation.  Futile attempts have been made to reunite the couple.

     I can imagine the conversation now:

Female:  "YOU took me away from my family!!"

Male:  "But dear, there was this net.."

Female:  "SHUT UP!  We were in SWITZERLAND!  SNOW!  NOW look at us, in all of this HEAT!"

Male:  "But d...."

Female:  "I SAID SHUT UP!  You haven't done a thing in over 75 years, no job, nothing!"

Male:  "yes dear"

Female:  "GET OUT!"

Male:  "But dear... I can't..."

Female:  "I SAID, GET OUT!  I'VE HAD IT WITH YOUR EXCUSES, NOW GET OUT!"
