Good afternoon,

This e-mail is to inform yuo of an incident that took place at school earlier this morning. At approximaletly 11;00, a worker was excavating a trench in the rear of the building and struck a propane line. The gas was immediatly shut off, but I evauated the building as a preacaution. We have developed plans for this type of emergency, so the studetns walked to Independence Park and waited thgir until they were permitted to return. While at the park, a member of the district, who is also a certified fire fighter, used a device to check the building for any propane. No proprane was detaced in the building, thus permitting us to alloow the studetn back intop the school. The studtn returned at arouhnd 11:30 and returned to their nroa]mal routine.

A the studetns were walking to the park, they did have to go through soem high weeds. I would encourgae you to check your child for any ticks.

The stufetns and staff followed our emergency plan and did an outstanding job of moving to and from the park. I am very proud of how they handeled the situation.

Should you have any questions, please conatct me at school.

mr. Bowen
