A guy named George gets his first apartment and calls his mother to complain about the neighbors. His mother asks George why he hates his neighbors so much. He tells her that the guy to the right of him moans all day long. The lady to his left bangs her head against the wall, and the guy across the hall screams and yells all day long.
She proceeeds to tell George that he has strange neighbors and warns him to stay away from them, to which George replies, "I do, I keep to myself and play my Tuba in the living room".
