A young man with a peg leg went to his first dance. He was very shy, and, of, course, a bit awkward as well. After the music started, he stood and watched as all the boys chose their partners. After everyone else was dancing, he noticed a girl standing alone in the far corner. He made his way over to her through the dancing couples. Her hair hung below her waist as she stood there, not looking up at the dancers. She had a beautiful figure and was dressed so nicely. He couldn't believe his luck!
As he came closer, she looked up at him--she had a wooden eye! He was a bit startled, but not repulsed. She asked him whether he would like to dance, and he shouted back,
"Would I?!?!?!?!?!"
Poor lad........... never knew why she slapped him and ran away..........
