A mountain man came down from the mountain to get a vasectomy. The doctor offers the back woodsmen anesthesia but he refuses saying "I have only felt pain twice in my life".

The doctor performs the surgery keeping close watch on the mountain man's eyes for any glimmer of pain and there was none.

Amazed, the dr inquires "When was the 1st time you felt pain ?". The mountain man tells his tale, "I was in the woods taking a shit one morning when I got my balls caught in a bear trap"...."YIKES" exclaims the dr, and inquires "When was the second time you felt pain?....The mountain man says "When I reached the end of the chain".....
