The parks service posted these photos of something that looks like a snake with a big soft slippery mouth full of suction cups.The sea lamprey, according to the parks service, is "an alien invader" that made it to the Great Lakes through a shipping canal.

This particular sea lamprey was donated to the Cleveland Museum of Natural History to be a specimen in their fish collection. -

Consider this steelhead trout lucky! We removed the lamprey parasite, but the nasty wound that it left is clearly visible here.
