A Spanish female politician has appeared naked on a magazine cover in an effort to repair her reputation after being sacked by her party.

Carmen López feels she was wrongly dismissed by the Ciudadanos (Citizens) party after it was revealed she was claiming travel expenses for commuting from Chicago to her job back in Spain. -

In an interview telling her version of events López claims she was forced to relocate to Chicago when her husband was given a job as a professor after being unemployed. She says Ciudadanos was fully aware of her plans to make the 4,000 mile commute from the Windy City to Seville to attend council meetings. -

The politician claims her party leaked her expense claim to the media to force her out of her job. She said she had requested to use video conferencing, which is free, but her idea was knocked back, leaving her no choice and when the scandal broke, López was quickly asked to leave her post. “The trap was set, and I fell into it.” She said. -

The 43-year-old posed completely nude except for a pair of high heels to appear in the racy cover photo for the latest edition of Interviú magazine. -

It seems that Spanish politicians have a bit of penchant for sexy photo shoots – Ciudadanos party founder, Albert Rivera, stripped off for posters during his campaign for Parliament in 2006 and earlier this year Yolanda Couceiro Morín, a mayoral candidate for Portugalete in the Basque region, also posed naked for campaign posters to dramatise the need for transparency in government.
