Interâvieweâr:â Well.â.â.â Whereâ are you cominâg from?â
Blaisâe Baileây Finneâgan III: (âpauseâ)â Well.â.â.â I don'ât like the way the countâry'âs ran, don'ât you know,â and, erm.â.â.â that'âs prettây much what i was expreâssingâ in my poem.â The goverânmentâ.â.â.â the Ameriâcan goverânmentâ - they'âre sneakây,â they'âre very deceiâtful,â they'âre liarsâ,â they'âre cheatâs,â they'âre rip-âoffs.â I mean,â the Ameriâcan goverânmentâ is one systeâmaticâ goverânmentâ that.â.â.âthat nobodây can trustâ.â I don'ât trustâ them myselâf.â
Interâvieweâr:â And how long have you been writiâng for?
Blaisâe Baileây Finneâgan III: Huh?
Interâvieweâr:â How long have you been writiâng for?
Blaisâe Baileây Finneâgan III: Sinceâ I was four.â
Interâvieweâr:â Do you do this sort of thingâ a lot, like,â open-âmic kindaâ questâions?â
Blaisâe Baileây Finneâgan III: Oh, I love open-âmics,â I love cominâg here to do open-âmics,â absolâutelyâ.â
Interâvieweâr:â What kind of reactâions do you usualâly get?
Blaisâe Baileây Finneâgan III: Usualâly,â peoplâe are.â.â.â are prettây much in agreeâment with what I'm sayinâg.â
Interâvieweâr:â We overhâeard you beforâe talkiâng aboutâ.â.â.â you went to courtâ todayâ for a speedâing tickeât?â
Interâvieweâr:â rightâ.â Do you wannaâ tell us that storyâ?â
Blaisâe Baileây Finneâgan III: Yes, absolâutelyâ,â I wouldân'ât mind telliâng you the storyâ.â Erm.â.â.â I went to courtâ todayâ for a speedâing tickeât,â and I told the judgeâ,â erm.â.â.â "Let me tell you sometâhing,â and you listeân and you listeân good,â I'm only gonnaâ say this one time and one time only,â I don'ât repeaât myselâf for nobodây,â"â I said.â I says.â.â.â "I'm here to pay a speedâing tickeât,â not to listeân to your lectuâres and hear you run your mouthâ for an hour.â"â I says "I'm here to pay off my speedâing tickeât .â.â.âand I'm here to get my finesâ out of the way and get the fuck to work.â"â The judgeâ says "You can'ât talk like that in my courtâroom,â you'âre in conteâmpt of courtâ.â"â then I said.â.â.â I told the judgeâ,â "If that'âs the best you can do, I feel sorryâ for you.â"â I said "Why don'ât you just shut your fuckiâng mouthâ for once and listeân.â"â I said "I'm not gonnaâ take any shit.â"â I said "I'm gonnaâ pay my speedâing tickeât like I said.â"â I walkeâd up to the god damn judgeâ and I hand him my 25 dollaârs and I says "âHere'âs my moneyâ,â now I am leaviâng.â" And I left it at that.â
(At this pointâ the interâview fadesâ whilsât the musicâ growsâ in intenâsity)â
Then,â beforâe I left,â I turneâd arounâd and told the judgeâ "I'm here to stateâ who I am and be honesât with you.â"â I said "If they thougâht I was dangeârous on the road like you'âre tryinâg to accusâe me of, wouldân'ât they have takenâ my licenâse when I firstâ got it? Yes they wouldâ.â"â And the judgeâ says "âYeah,â you have a pointâ,â"â He goes "You don'ât need to get loud,â"â I said "âDon'ât get loud?â"â I says "âI'âve got everyâ rightâ to get loud.â"â I says "You can'ât do a god damn thingâ aboutâ it, becauâse I'm expreâssingâ myselâf in your courtâ,â and thereâ is nothiâng you can do aboutâ it. You thinkâ you'âre god becauâse you have a robe and you can put peoplâe up the goddaâmn riverâ for 20 yearsâ?â Well you'âre not." And I left it at that.â
Interâvieweâr:â Did you walk away?â
Blaisâe Baileây Finneâgan III: Yes I did.â.â.â I don'ât like the judicâial systeâm,â I don'ât like the goverânmentâ systeâm,â I don'ât like the policâe,â I don'ât like anythâing to do with this countâry'âs goverânmentâ.â I just don'ât like it, becauâse.â.â.â they'âre sneakây,â like I said - they'âre deceiâtful,â they'âre lyingâ,â they'âre cheatâs,â they rip peoplâe off. That'âs the Ameriâcan goverânmentâ for you. Ameriâca is a thirdâ worldâ countâry,â and peoplâe don'ât recogânise it.â.â.â and I thinkâ that that'âs prettây god damn sad, that they don'ât recogânise theirâ own countâry as a thirdâ worldâ,â thirdâ rate,â thirdâ classâ slum.â
Interâvieweâr:â Well.â.â.â Do you have any weapoâns?â
Blaisâe Baileây Finneâgan III: Yes, I do. I own a high-âpowerâed assauâlt rifleâ,â I own a 12-âgaugeâ doublâe barreâl shotgâun,â I own a regulâar shotgâun,â I own a regulâar huntiâng rifleâ,â I own a 9mm, a 357, a 45 handgâun,â a 38 speciâal,â and, erm.â.â.â I own an m-16 fullyâ automâatic grounâd assauâlt rifleâ.â.â.â
Interâvieweâr:â Do you thinkâ thingâs are gonnaâ get betteâr beforâe they get worseâ?â
Blaisâe Baileây Finneâgan III: No way. Thingâs are just gonnaâ get worseâ and keep on gettiâng worseâ.â Like I said,â Ameriâca'âs a thirdâ worldâ countâry as it is and.â.â.â and we'âre just basicâally in a hopelâess situaâtion as it standâs.â
Interâvieweâr:â What do you thinkâ this countâry'âs gonnaâ look like in the year 2003?â
Blaisâe Baileây Finneâgan III: Y'âknow,â I'll tell you the truthâ - nothiâng againâst you guys,â but I don'ât wannaâ answeâr that questâion becauâse.â.â.â I havenâ'ât even got a mind that'âs that.â.â.âthat inhumâane.â
Interâvieweâr:â are you readyâ for what'âs cominâg?â
Blaisâe Baileây Finneâgan III: Readyâ as I'll ever be.
Interâvieweâr:â Most peoplâe aren'ât.â
Blaisâe Baileây Finneâgan III: Thereâ'âs a littlâe sayinâg.â.â.â Datesâ back for generâationâs.â.â.â
Interâvieweâr:â Go on.â.â.â
Blaisâe Baileây Finneâgan III: Be prepaâred for anythâing at any time from anyboâdy,â don'ât take no shit,â alwayâs standâ your grounâd.â Peoplâe wannaâ come up to me and run theirâ mouthâ - guessâ what?â I'll throwâ them throuâgh the fuckiâng windoâw.â.â.â I won'ât thinkâ a thingâ of it.
Interâvieweâr:â Wouldâ you mind recitâing your poem for us?
Blaisâe Baileây Finneâgan III: Not at all, I don'ât see why.â.â.â I don'ât see why I couldân'ât.â
