HISTORY OF PAINTBALL1970: Although it would not be used as a "paintball marker" for another 11 years, it was in 1970 that Crossman, the airgun company patented the first paintball marker: the 707 The purpose of this marker was to mark trees and cattle. (Daisy made the famous 007 soon after). 1981: In June of 1981, 12 friends went into the New Hampshire woods with Daisy markers, oil based paint, and shop goggles. They played a game in which the goal was to capture each player's flag--12 flags in all. The winner (Ritchie White) captured all 12 flags and never fired a single shot.1982: The first commercial paintball field (outdoor field) opened its doors. Caleb Strong (who would become one of the better known tournament players in the world in the late 1980s on his team called the PMI Piranhas) opened the first field in Rochester New York.1982: Bob Gurnsey saw the potential of what went on that day in the woods in 1981. Twenty responses to use with telemarketers1. If they want to loan you money, tell them you just filed for bankruptcy and you could sure use some money.2. If they start out with, "How are you today?" say, "I'm so glad you asked, because no one these days seems to care, and I have all these problems. My arthritis is acting up, my eyelashes are sore, my dog just died . . . "3. If they say they're John Doe from XYZ Company, ask them to spell their name. Then ask them to spell the company name. Then ask them where it is located, how long it has been in business, how many people work there, how they got into this line of work if they are married, how many kids they have, etc. Continue asking them personal questions or questions about their company for as long as necessary.4. This works great if you are male. Telemarketer: "Hi, my name is Judy and I'm with XYZ Company." You: Wait for a second and with a real husky voice ask, "What are you wearing?"5. Cry out in surprise, "Judy? Is that you? Oh ... Read more ...

Don't really know if it's been posted here before, but here it is in it's entirety.

The Wal-Mart Story.Yes, that's right - The Wal-Mart Story !!!This story originally appears at

It's not A Wal-Mart story... it is THE Wal-Mart story. A tale so sordid, so epic, that it is the only thing I can think of to write about tonight.I was in my first year of college at the time and was working for Roadway Package Systems on the overnight shift. RPS was a cheap knockoff of Federal Express or UPS, only without all the customers and apparently safety regulations, as we had at least 15 employees out on workers comp at any given time. What THEY were doing when they got hurt, Ill never know, because all I ever saw anyone do was basically sit around and move a few boxes here and there to create the illusion that we deserved our $7.00 an hou ... Well! And so! Here we are again, writing about my shitty job. Maybe I should sue. Only, if I did, I wouldn't get a dime from it. Oh, you don't want to hear me rant and rave about being unappreciated? Fine! Here it is in plain English for all the millions (in someone's' mind) of fans.

Last night, on Cinco De Mayo, around seven PM, I start getting calls about people in my building having no water. Hmm. The plumbers said they were finished, and that everything was working. Let's find out.

I checked the plumbing on the ground floor, working perfectly, then went up to the second. Well, from the second to the seventh floor, none of the rooms had water on the South side of the building. Here we go again. Running back down to the ground floor, I went to the water mains. All of them were in the on position. Hmm. Interesting. So, going out the the garage, I discovered that all of the mains were on there as well. Puzzling. So, upon further investigation, I noticed a few of the seco ... Read more ...

Well!  Happy day to whomever reads this stuff.  Apparently not that many.  So, I'm a gonna try it again.

This past Tuesday, everything seemed normal at my job (i.e. boring as hell with typical ghost experiences.), that is, until I started hearing the drip of running water.  There's not a way to tell if water is running on the ground floor of my building, because there is only one apartment on that floor, behind closed doors, and on the other side of the building.  So, there must be some sort of problem.

Let's find out.

Upon investigating down the hallway of the ground floor, I find that it's not simply a running faucet, but water streaming through the ceiling, onto the brand new furniture and carpet near the stairwell.  Seeing where it was leaking from, I ran up the stairs and pounded on the door of a tenant, who is known to have heart problems.  There was no answer, but water was coming out from under his door.  So, using my security master ...
