...Specializing in Open Air Commodities.

Sounds better than "flatbed truck driver," huh?

Anyway, so I got a job to replace the one I got run off from, and now I'm working for Arrow Trucking of Tulsa, OK. Do a Google search on them for some fun reading on how bad they are, supposedly, and how much of a pussy most of the complainers are. It's good entertainment however you take it.

My take, so far, is they have let themselves become disorganized as they grew huge in the last decade or so. It's nothing that can't be worked around, or fixed, if they so choose. Really though, I'm just hoping to tough it out for a year or so and move on. If freight would start picking up some more, alot of their kinks would iron themselves out, it seems.

I actually got laid over here in Albuquerque this weekend, but I gotta head out tomorrow, taking a load from Arizona over to Missouri. Fun times. A little R&R and fixing the little headaches, etc. and back out to the salt mines.

Got cocky there, didn't you? So, here's the reasons I'm not taken in by your "wit and charm," so-called "popular guy."

1 You're  Canadian. Enough said.

2 I'm not enamored nor convinced of your hatred of John Stamos. I actually have enjoyed his work at times, even if Full House sucked (at least it gave us that anorexic wet dream, the Olsen Twins). Have you seen his work on ER? Okay, he's no Olivier (hell, he's not even a Clooney) but this so-called bile you spill toward him is ridiculous. I smell bromance/man crush.

3 Your avatar reminds me of those overtly Eastern-European Communist depictions of Obama that are prevalent in my neighborhood. At least they'll disappear once people realize they only voted for him because of what I like to call "The Ford/Carter effect." People were so rabidly anti-Republican during a recession they blamed on a crooked White House that they elected an eloquent, if underqualified, president. Sound familiar? Oh well. What do you know, anyway, Canuck?< ... Read more ...

So, I was chatting with Bo just now and I was boring him to tears wth this story of mine I've been developing in my head for four years or more now. Just suffice it to say, it's a fantasy in the Star Wars/LOTR/X-Men sector of the genre (which is to say it's nowhere, maybe).

I got to thinking though, about the sub-plots and fringe characters in the story--the three secretaries that chat about each other endlessly, whom we see one at a time, the step-brother of the Messiah-type main character of Parts 2-4. Which of these will be the next Boba Fett type character (assuming it ever gets made)? Who will people identify with, despite their marginality? Or is it because of that?

So I pose the question to you all: Who is it you lock in on in a movie, that you're not supposed to (i.e. the main character)? LOTR is pretty much an ensemble, so I don't know if that counts, but make the argument. Why is it, in your horrendously uninformed opinion of yourself, that you're drawn to that character?

So Im all but officially a college graduate. Im the first generation in my family to get this honor (irony? My cousins kids, only a couple years older or younger than me, beat me chronologically, but even the best my brothers did was an associates.

So what happened today? Well, I was scheduled to go in and get in a truck, finish moving in that is, and hmm it aint there. Wheres my truck? Oh, its almost back. We needed it for an emergency, a guy broke down. Oh well, he gets back and they figure out his trucks down for a week minimum. So the boss and the Safety guy go and try to figure out what to do.

The verdict comes down: the college graduate, with the student loans, $7000 in credit card debt, etc, gets to stay part time only.

WTF?

So, Im given a choice to starve to death hoping theyll give me a run or two a week, max, or say fuck you and quit. Show of hands: whatd I do?

Im gonna put out some apps, work on some art (got a grea ... Read more ...

Hey, for anyone in here who actually enjoys my creativity/moxie/exceptionally wide penis, here's a little something more to enjoy:

This started as an abstract interpretation of the traditional color bars and countdown that open video and movies. As I got going, though, I started to find a weird narrative to what I was filming... like, what's the deal with all the Native American pseudo-imagery? Sure, it's Albuquerque, but shouldn't that mean we'd be tamer, or less offensive? Seriously, there are twentysome reservations within a morning's drive of here.

This project involved found footage that we were given and had to re-splice, using Final Cut Pro. I even used and reworked the audio, though we only had to use the imagery. I conceived of it in two ways, and thus the "intermission" in between sections: the first was based on the dialogue I constructed from the original, then I found the imag ... Read more ...
