I'm in a warrior-ish mood. I've been reading up a lot lately on a favorite subject of mine... the Spartans, their society, their philosophies, their battles, their heroes. Everything. I've long believed that Spartan society was, for lack of a more modest word to describe it, perfect. The highest social classes were reserved solely for the warriors, the citizen soldiers. Indeed, citizenship itself required that you serve in the military. Soldiers did not serve the nobles, they WERE the nobles, and there was no other way to become one. Your status was determined not by your wealth, but by your prowess in battle and your character as a man. Honor and loyalty and integrity were so commonplace that the very weakest of them would be comparable to some of our finest heroes today.

The agoge in particular interests me. The living breathing antithesis of the political-correctness-bred weakness that I blogged about so recently. The agoge was the spartan schooling system. In the agoge they learned thei ... Read more ...

Political Correctness is eating the the human race alive. As time goes on, we grow weaker and weaker, more dependant on our technologies, luxuries and home comforts for survival. Softer and softer we become, steadily losing our ability to stand up and resist those who are strong and who wish to use their strength to oppress and rule us.

Examples of this are myriad, and can be found in virtually every aspect of life and society. To generalize them somewhat, they are focused entirely on protecting people's comfort. Not their well-being, mind-you... only their comfort. We try more and more as time goes on to protect everyone from so much as being OFFENDED by anything anyone else might say or do, nevermind actually hurt in any way. And the ridiculous thing is... the more we coddle people, the more we try to shield them from the slightest discomfort, the easier it becomes for them to be made uncomfortable, and the more absurd the limits become which we place on our behavior to prevent discomfort ... Before I begin, I want to point out that I'm not the bragging type. I won't get into how this subject came up... those of you who saw the comments know why I'm doing this. Those of you who didn't, suffice to say the subject came up and I offered to write a blog about the reasons I'm confident that, given the opportunity, I'll leave most any girl who spends a night in my bed begging for more. Well, I was taken up on that offer, so here it is. I'm going to try and write this in a fashion that doesn't sound like bragging, so I'll simply talk about the things that I like to do to girls. Again, please don't take this as me trying to brag, I'm writing this by request.

Ok, for starters, I'm very dominant. VERY dominant. I've learned from experience that even the most strong-willed and seemingly aggressive girls love to be physically dominated, overpowered, controlled, whatever word you'd like to use. Very few girls really like to be the dominant one in the bedroom, and even those ones often very m ... Read more ...

Here you go, HunterDad. Your timing is flawless. You happen to have made your request while I'm stuck here at AP Hill suffering from chronic boredom between training exercises. And so, for having nothing better to do, I'll write you your table of contents. I might get around to a suggestion blog as well, but to be honest, I've never really had any favorite blogs so much as favorite users... perhaps I'll write a suggestion blog that simply links you to these users' submission pages. Actually, to be honest, Maiorano is the only one. So there you go, that's my suggestion... go to maiorano84's submission page and have a look. He's awesome. Back to the contents.

First and foremost of course, I'm practically required to provide the link to my very first blog, which was featured by the mods and is responsible for much of my fame and near-legendary status on these blog pages. It's about the hypocrisy of claiming to support the troops on one hand while simultaneously condemning our mission and calli ... Read more ...

Most anyone familiar with the military knows that expression. Hurry up and wait. It captures the irony of our existence, in the way we rush to stick to schedule only to encounter significant downtime at every delay. For example, when you're hauling ass getting a bunch of gear and bodies in place for movement and training, only to wind up waiting on the buses to arrive. So, after getting up at zero-dark-thirty and spending all morning making sure your shit's wired tight and ready to go and everything is where it needs to be when it needs to be there... you wind up sitting on your ass, waiting for the one small portion of the schedule that didn't go to plan, and thinking to yourself "I could've slept in."

So here I am at AP Hill, and lo, do I discover that the computers here don't restrict me from reaching the EBW blog pages. That's right fuckers... you're stuck with me for the next two weeks, sitting around at a training facility, during a training excersise in which my only part to play is ... Read more ...
