Okay, I don't really know who stole it, but it's gone.  It was trash night, and this morning, all that's out there are my empty trash cans.  I look down the street, and there are no democratic signs left, just empty trash cans as far as you can see.  And two republican signs.  Only two people on my street have republican signs.  If one of those guys did it, that would be pretty dumb.  The most obvious culprit is the trash guy.  It seems silly for him to risk his job over something like that, though.  Possibly some republican from another neighborhood?  Maybe other democrats trying to make the republicans look bad?  The world may never know.

I saw a picture recently of a guy's sign to replace his McCain sign that got trashed.  It said that the culprit had violated his first amendment rights, and if they ever came back, they'd learn about his second amendment rights.  That's about how I feel today.

A friend forwarded this email conversation to me.  It's the last two exchanges in a political discusion between him and a family acquiantance.  The response is so well thought out, and it sums up my thoughts so much better than I did, I felt compelled to share it here.

First, here's the email from Steve's family acquaintance

(This message was the result of a brief exchange where a Pro-McCain message was sent to Steve, and he replied by simply saying, "Go Obama!"). . . .

I can't believe you would prefer socialism to the form of government our forefathers fought so hard to get.  Tell me what Obama has done for our country so far that makes him your choice.  Also tell me what change he plans to make that you see as positive - I am NOT interested in his higher taxes or socialized medicine - people come from Canada and Europe all the time for surgeries they can't receive or at least not before they would be in a dire situation or eve ... I've been thinking about what prize to get with the points I'm slowly accumulating.  Theres so many things I want that are on that list.  I think Ive focused most lately on the Garmin GPS navigator.  A PS3 or Xbox would be cool, but I dont have a lot of time for games.  I have a 18 month old son that takes up all my time.  I havent even picked up my guitar since he was born.  Plus, if I was gonna get a game system, Id rather have a wii, which is not on the list.

So I had this idea, that I could get the amazon gift card, (which I just now have enough points for) and start saving for another one.  Does anyone know if you can use multiple gift cards for one purchase on Amazon?  Or do I need to use them separately?  Im just curious, and will probly end up saving my points for the GPS.

At my job, when a coworker is leaving us, we take him out to lunch.  Not for people that get fired, but people that are voluntarily moving on, whether it's another position within the company, or another place entirely.  I'm usually the one that coordinates this.  I find out where the person wants to go, send the email to everyone that might be interested in going, and call the restaurant to give them a heads up that a large group will be coming in.  Yesterday we went to Hooters.  I sent an email a week ago so everyone would know.  A lot of people replied and said they were going, a few couldn't afford it, one guy had the day off already.  The usual stuff.  Bible Guy tells me he's not going.  I don't think much of it, until he says, "I can't believe you guys are going there.  I thought you were all christians."  I just walked away, not wanting to get into a discussion about how evil Hooters is.

Over the course of the week, people kept asking me what other ... Read more ...

For a few years now, Ive been running a lottery pool for my coworkers.  Whenever the powerball gets over a hundred million, we play.  Everyone puts in five bucks for each drawing.  To date, the most weve ever won at one time is $100.

I while back, I stumbled across a website claiming to sell winning strategies for picking powerball numbers.  Of course, I was skeptical.  I doubt things, its part of who I am.  I started reading the website, and their selling point only works if you follow their train of logic.  The first thing they want to you to decide is whether or not you should be playing the lottery.  If the total prize wont make a difference in your finances, then theres no point in playing the lottery.  Well, the minimum prize in this particular game is 15 million.  That would definitely make a difference in my finances, as it ... About Me

I've been coming to this site for years. I've watched a lot of media. I've posted a bunch. I followed the rules, and it wasn't worth it. I'm still waiting on the prize I claimed. Six to eight weeks for delivery. Christmas 2008 was nine weeks. It's now February. I'm on week 15, and still no prize. I only care enough to talk about it here. I'm not gonna call and complain, or write a blog about it, or go in the forums and throw a tantrum. I always wondered if the erep prizes were real. Now I know.

Update: It's now been one year since I claimed an erep prize. Nine months or so from when the new management of the site announced that they were going to honor the erep prize system. They just needed a little time to sort out the records.
