Just so you know, this blog is about suicide so if you aren't interested, go ahead and close the window. Hopefully, you'll take this seriously though. I believe Vampboy blogged about this a few months ago, but I feel led to do it again.
I've lost 2 friends in the last year to suicide. Last summer, a high school friend of mine hung himself. Now, we had grown apart after high school so it had been about 4 years since we last talked. This made the loss easier to deal with, but I was still shocked to hear the news.
Last night I found out that another friend of mine had taken his own life as well. This one has affected me much more than the other.
You see, I was a counselor at a summer camp for the last 4 summers up until this summer. I met this kid when he was 13. He had a sister that was about 7. I grew pretty close to these 2 kids during those summers. They both had great personalities that made others want to be around them. His sister became like a daughter or little sister ... I've seen other blogs where someone asks the blogging community questions to get to know each other better. This is similar, but with a new twist. I think user names can reveal a lot about a person in some cases. So here's your chance to explain the reason behind your name. I know some of you have names that don't need explaining so this may not apply to you. To everyone else:
Why did decide to make you user name what it is?
My story isn't very interesting. I'm a fan of Mr. T and my last name starts with a T so Mr. T became a nickname of mine while I was in highschool. I just added the fool because in my mind I imagined someone asking Mr. T what his name was and his response being, "I'm Mr. T, fool!"
So what about you?
So I've had this problem for a while now and I'm not looking for medical advice or anything...just your thoughts.
I have never had a broken nose or anything, but my sense of smell is very weak. I can smell some things. Food usually come through with no problem. At least, I think it does. I can smell gasoline at the stations. Perfumes, colognes, or deodorants I can smell. I can smell crap.
However, a lot of other things don't. Take farts for example. If someone dropped a room-clearing bomb nearby, I wouldn't smell it, which is odd since I can smell crap. When my sister moved into her new house, there was a slight gas leak. Everybody else smelled it clearly, but I just had a faint sense of gas. I would have overlooked it if I were alone. A certain plant near her home gives off a horrible odor when you drive by it, but I never smell it.
Obviously, this is something I need to see a doctor about because smell can be important. Yet, part of me enjoys laughing at others gag from ... Read more ...
I recently posted a blog about a problem I was having with Firefox to see if anyone else had heard of a similar problem or could give me some advice. To everyone who gave me suggestions, thank you. I really appreciate the help. Seriously.
I did get the problem fixed. After searching other sites and not finding any answers, I finally took gonePOSTAL's advice and stuffed Double Chunky Chocolate Chip cookies into my computer. Ok not really. I just took ellimem's advice and reinstalled. That seems to have worked.
So one last time...thank you to everyone that helped.
This may not be the best place to look for help, but I figured I'd give it a try.
My Firefox seems to be forgetting cookies. I used to be able to log on to a site and stay logged on no matter how many times I closed Firefox or shut down my computer. Yesterday, a thunderstorm was heading my way and knocked the power out for a second while I was on the computer. That's happened before, but ever since it happened this time, I can't stay logged on to sites. Every time I open up my browser i have to log in to any site I go to. None of the settings seem to have changed either.
Does anybody have a clue what could have happened? I'm sure it's related to the power going out, but I don't know how to fix the problem.
