Going through some of my old downloads.  I mostly don't steal on the internet, but two films I have used bit torrent to get were [REC] and [REC] 2.

I had been anticipating [REC] for a while, but it had been out in Europe for almost a year and there was no US release date for the feature film or the DvD.  It turned out the reason why was the release of the American remake, Quarantine.

Fortunately, I downloaded [REC] before I saw Quarantine.  The Spanish film was so much better that the remake wasn't even in the same zip code as the original.  The Spanish film was over 20 minutes shorter, had no bullshit filler, was superbly acted, and was hair raising from beginning to end.

I couldn't get the subtitles to download properly, but I didn't mind blowing it off.  My Spanish is pretty good and I didn't think it was going to be a dialog heavy film.  The only trouble I had was with distorted voices.  The police announcements over megaphone were unintelligible to me.  The wo ... Troll-wife made an appearance tonight.  She boo-hooed all over the place.  It was hard not to actively be an asshole.  She was really acting like she expected me to comfort her.

Everything she was lamenting about was something I directly addressed during her proposal that we divorce:

"We're going to have to foreclose or short sale the house."  No shit.  Were you really expecting to pay for a five bedroom, four bathroom house by yourself, dumbass?

"The kids are fucked up now."  No shit.  Who the fuck do you think has been trying to put the pieces of their self esteem back together every night when you're being a dancing queen?

"The divorce is so expensive it's crippling us."  No shit.  We're not even to trial yet, dumbass, and you're running out of credit.  I, however, am not on hourly billing so I'll be able to afford it and just be in debt for a decade.

Had a first real date with girlfriend #3 today.  We went out for a late lunch, had a burger, a couple beers, and got to know each other for a couple hours.

She's probably the least attractive of the three women I've gotten together with lately, but that's not really a liability.  They're all pretty damned attractive.  She's not a "professional" drinker.  We hung out for hours and she didn't even finish her second beer.  She also didn't light up a cigarette the whole time we were there, so she's not a heavy smoker.

She works at a hospital in human resources.  I purposefully didn't ask which hospital in case it's the same one that troll-wife works at.  You KNOW she'd go down and check her out.  It's not like I'm hiding anything, but troll-wife is fucking toxic.  Plus, I'm kind of embarrassed that I used to be in love with somebody who has turned into a vain, self cent ... The Italian woman I was dating (who got ripped on by the comedian I took her to) and I broke up.  I expect we'll still be platonic friends, but we're too different.

What's more, I was pretty much done discussing how our asshole ex-spouses had fucked out our families and was ready to start talking about what was happening between us.  She wasn't on board.  With all the shit that's been going on in my life and with my kids, it's odd to me that I was the one that was ready to move on sooner and it was a deal breaker that she wasn't.

Now that I'm pretty much ready to be social and meet people, it seems like my dance card is full.  A reasonably attractive guy that's sober, employed, has wit, doesn't play headgames, and does right by his children is a hot commodity.
