guys dont get me wrong, im not an environmental nut job or anything. i throw trash out the car window like everyone else even tho i know i shouldnt. to me it is just not a question of if it is or isnt happening, but more a question of when. if we continue to act the way we do we WILL turn this place into a dump and with current space travel technology, we better still be trying to keep this planet kinda clean and livable. at least until we can find a way to colonize Mars or Venus.

the earth didnt always look like it does now. there have been large movements of land mass, gradual changes in climate throughout time taking hundreds or thousands of years. the problem now is that previous changes that theoretically took those hundreds or thousands of years now only take decades or half a century. a couple of degrees in either direction, over time, and we freeze or fry.

there was also more oxygen thus making larger organisms (dinosaurs, giant beetles, giant dragonflies, ect.) possible. so what is your point? the earth was hotter and had less land mass that was not covered by water. that is the truth. thanks for proving climate change right.

actually, Hitler in so many words was saying exactly that. and this fear of the U.N. is based in what evidence? the U.N. is as about effective at doing things as a paraplegics dick. this the whole "there are a small amount of powerful people worldwide controlling everything so they can issue in the NWO" argument. thad, i thought you were better than that. refute the science and back up your claims with facts, dont go on and on about impossibly large conspiracy theories facilitating our demise or enslavement.

because of the cap and trade thing we are trying again? yeah, i can see that. but a worldwide conspiracy covering hundreds of people encompassing many different governments? that is a conspiracy bordering on the size the 9/11 insiders were/are purposing. we cant even get senate and the H of Rs to agree on anything besides their annual pay increase.

if you ask me, established energy companies have a bigger stake in debunking global climate change and humans role in it than climatologists have in proving the opposite. NorCali is right, it is all about money, but it is the oil and gas companies money at stake not scientists research funding.

here is the rub now Thad: who do you believe? some unknown hackers that stole all these e-mails and then didn't alter them or accredited scientists that have been in their field of study for years? to believe the hackers requires there to be a world wide conspiracy on many different levels with hundreds upon hundreds of people involved. and for what? for some extra grant money for only a select few? to completely deny we have had a negative impact on our worlds environment ever since the industrial revolution is near-sightedness at best and complete disregard for the world at worst. this is another one of those areas that politics needs to keep its dick out of
