If a book tells me that the earth is 6000 years old, while every single scientist in the world tells me it's billions of years old, i might take that into consideration.

"absolutely nothing in the world that will make me not believe"? what kind of standards of evidence do you have? why aren't you willing to accept a new idea? why can't you accept contradictory evidence? The bible was written millennia ago! it has been edited, spliced, and re-edited many many times since it was first cobbled together! Personally, any book that says that the world is flat, unmoving, and has a sky like a "curtain" will definitely raise a few warning flags in my head. And secondly, why wouldn't you treat the bible as a book of fairy tales and observations from a couple thousand years ago? do you have any proof that it's anything more? is there any reason i should believe the stories of the bible over the story of santa claus?

I totally agree with you. Religion is the biggest cause of segregation in the world. I mean, ask a christian or a muslim if they have a single friend who isn't of their religion.

I really dislike physical discipline of any kind. It all comes down to who the kids think they're being punished by. I personally try to teach my kids that they only have one life and they shouldn't mess it up, thereby making it clear that they punish themselves if they don't make the right choice. If you hit your kids or directly punish them, then as soon as they're off to college you're jurisdiction ends and they go off like rockets. you just have to make them know that natural consequences are something you can't escape.

I really despise people who say that black people are naturally less intelligent than white people. The truth is, brain power is determined by nutrition. At key points in your life, such as puberty, your body needs certain key amino acids to assist brain growth, which affects how smart you are. It all depends on the way you're raised. That's why there is a free school lunch program.
