      • It's an infringement on our constitutional rights. Our rights are what separate us from other nations. Making sure that they are known, and challenging police to follow the rules is the only way that we can ensure that they remain.

      • It's principle, not convenience. the constitution grants us the right to travel unmolested, and that we are innocent until proven guilty. DUI checkpoints are guilty until proven innocent. They search you without probable cause, and harass innocent people. People do things like this to remind the government who is in charge. We are.

      • Refer to the 4th amendment. That is Federal law, which trumps state law (even state constitutions). You cannot stop someone unreasonably, in a car or otherwise. You have a right to travel unmolested, unless reasonable su*****ion of commiting a crime is evident. Innocent until proven guilty. NOT Guilty until proven innocent.

      • I don't believe you're understanding the concept of utilizing your rights, and ensuring that they are not infringed upon. The bill of rights was put in place by the framers as basic liberties enjoyed by all. It was written in blood, as it was things that have been learned over centuries. DUI checkpoints (which this was, NOT a "regular traffic stop", as you said), are provably unconstitutional. The supreme courts ruled that violating your rights just for a minute is ok in the name of safety. Benjamin Franklin said it best "Those who are willing to sacrifice liberty for safety deserve neither". Do some research. Our rights are far more important than you realize.

      • Yeah, because there's aspartame instead of sugar. But aspartame is really hard on your organs. Your liver and kidneys particularly. It's actually healthier to drink the regular coke, it's just more calories.
