While I agree with most of your points, soldiers do not die for nothing. Maybe I am biased, but my best friend was killed in Iraq and I like to think his death holds great meaning and purpose. unfortunately collateral damage is unavoidable in war and war is sometimes unavoidable or neccessary. War is always imminent and it is never going away. What isn't accounted for is the fact that those civilian deaths are about 95% the fault of militaries other than the US. We are easily the most humane militant force in the world. Also, are you sure about those statistics? They don't seem correct.
